Frequently Asked Questions

What does Individual Leasing mean?
Unlike some apartment communities in Charlotte, we offer individual leasing for added peace of mind. Individual leasing means students are only responsible for their monthly installment payments, not those of their roommates. Contact us to learn more about our individual leasing.
What are rental installments?
A rental installment is a convenient payment plan that divides the total cost of your lease into 12 equal monthly payments. This means you’ll make manageable, predictable payments each month, making it easier to budget and focus on your studies. If you have any questions about how rental installments work, please contact our leasing office.

Is a guarantor required?
A guarantor is not required but recommended. We have many ways to qualify from a personal guarantor, our Leap Program, Prepaid Rent, and Self Qualification methods. Reach out to us to find out more about each option!
Does Junction49 have staff on-site?
Yes! We want to make sure our residents are completely taken care of. To make their lives easier, we employ a well-qualified team of management and maintenance professionals on-site. We even have a 24/7 maintenance staff available in case of an emergency.

Is this apartment pet-friendly?
Yes, we are a pet-friendly community. We allow dogs, cats, and more! Call for more details about our pet policy.
Are roommate matching services available?
Yes! You will complete a roommate application during the application process and we will use this application to help place you with a roommate.

What utilities are included?
All units come fully furnished and a 65-in Smart TV in common areas. We include trash, recycling, water, and all basic appliances. In addition we provide a $25 electricity cap per resident.
How long is the lease?
We want to make everything as easy as possible for residents. That’s why we offer individual leasing that spans 12 months.

Do I need Renter’s Insurance?
Yes! We do require renter’s insurance with a minimum of $100,000 in liability. If you don’t have your own you can sign up for our limited liability protection for $15 monthly. Call us today for more information.
What type of parking is available?
We offer various garage parking. Our parking options are limited. Please call us today to learn more.

What furniture is provided?
Common area furniture includes a mounted 65” smart TV, sectional sofa, side chair, side table, coffee table, TV stand, and bar stool seating for your eat-in kitchen. Bedroom furniture includes queen size bed and bed frame, office desk and chair, and a dresser.
How close is Junction 49 to UNCC campus?
Located just 1.5 miles from campus, Junction is only a few minutes away!

What amenities does Junction 49 have?
Our amenities are unparalleled! Our community includes a resort style pool and hot tub with cozy cabana lounging, a massive 24/7 gym, free shuttle to UNCC campus, Grab + Go Market, 20 study rooms spanning across every floor and building, a cozy courtyard for relaxing and winding down, smart package lockers, and expansive modern resident lounges with gaming perfect for hanging out with friends.

Do I have to be a student to live here?
No. While we are student marketed and cater to the student lifestyle with dorm-style living, furnished apartments, individual leases, and roommate matching services, we welcome anyone that qualifies and meets our rental criteria.
Are you affiliated with the University?
While we are not directly affiliated with the University we are proud to announce that we are highly recommended from UNCC as we are a part of their Niner Choice Communities as a Gold Standard Community.

How does Junction 49 handle package deliveries?
We ensure secure package handling for our residents at Junction 49. We utilize secure electronic parcel lockers accessible 24/7. Every package that is scanned in by the carrier, will generate a specific code for the resident to use to open the locker whenever they are ready!
What do I need to do to prepare for move-in day at Junction 49?
To ensure a smooth move-in, please make sure you have signed your lease, paid all upfront fees, and and completed any other ncessary items on the move in checklist.

What is the neighborhood like around the community?
Our community is located in a vibrant and convenient neighborhood. We are just a short distance from the UNC Charlotte campus, Shoppes at University Place, and PNC Music Pavilion.
Can residents pay their rent online at Junction 49?
Absolutely, Junction 49 provides a convenient online Resident Portal where you can securely pay rent and view your payment history 24/7. This digital platform also allows you to submit maintenance requests, message the leasing office, stay updated on community news, etc. from the comfort of your computer or mobile device.

Is there public transportation easily accessible from Junction 49?
Yes, Junction 49 is located near the University City Blvd Light Rail Stop, CATS bus stops, and a free private shuttle making it easy to get around Charlotte and to campus without a car.
Is Junction 49 located near the UNCC library or other good study spots?
Yes, finding a quiet place to study is easy. Junction 49 is just a short walk or bike ride from UNC Charlotte's main library (J. Murrey Atkins Library) and other study-friendly cafes in the Charlotte university area. Junction 49 also offers private and group study rooms on each floor, so you can study in peace without leaving your home.

Can I sublet my room at Junction 49 if I have an internship or need to leave for the summer?
We do not allow subletting, but we do allow reletting, which is where the resident completely reassigns their lease over to a new resident. Please speak with management to understand the process and requirements.
Are there parks or outdoor recreation areas close to Junction 49?
Yes, outdoor enthusiasts living at Junction 49 will greatly appreciate the close proximity to beautiful green spaces such as Reedy Creek Park. These nearby recreational areas offer excellent, well-maintained trails for jogging, scenic picnic spots, and expansive athletic fields to support a highly active outdoor lifestyle.
